Aaron is family oriented with a strong passion for law and criminology. He is an experienced criminal defence lawyer and has experience dealing with sensitive and complicated criminal law cases and conducting jury trials in superior courts, as well as magistrate and children's court trials.
He is committed to helping client's get through the difficult processes, offering a transparent, friendly and client focused approach. He works hard to ensure that every case has the best chance at achieving a desired outcome.

Fintan Roberts
Lawyer
Fintan is a dedicated and passionate criminal lawyer with extensive trial experience and a comprehensive understanding of the law. He was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2020. Fintan prioritises quality, thinking quickly on his feet and advocating fiercely for his clients across State and Commonwealth jurisdictions.

Fintan comes from a background in both the private sector and with the Aboriginal Legal Service of Western Australia (ALSWA), providing passionate representation for his clients throughout Western Australia across the Children’s, Magistrates and District Court jurisdictions. He is comfortable dissecting prosecution evidence, conducting complex sentencings and bail applications, forming detail-oriented case theories, cross examining witnesses at trial, and negotiating valuable outcomes for clients.

Fintan credits his tenure with ALSWA as providing him with invaluable experience fighting relentlessly against the systemic difficulties faced by those traversing the criminal justice system.

Carole MacKay
Lawyer
Carole joined Aaron Plenderleith Legal in 2024 after having worked as a criminal lawyer for many years. Carole graduated from Murdoch University with Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Criminology and Justice and was admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2020.

Carole has represented clients in the Magistrates Court, District Court and Supreme Court and works tirelessly in achieving the best possible result for her clients. She has experience with all types of criminal matters, however has a particular interest in Serious Assaults, including Grievous Bodily Harm matters.

Erin Spellacy
Lawyer
Erin graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2021 with a Juris Doctor of Law.
She was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2022.
Erin is passionate about social justice and began her career working as a criminal lawyer with the Aboriginal Legal Service of WA Ltd. There, Erin honed her advocacy skills, appearing on a broad range of criminal matters and appearing in court almost daily during her three years at ALS.
Erin joined Aaron Plenderleith Legal in May 2025.
